need some help with new 120 hd!

i just purchased a 120 gig hd for my 360 today ..used from gamestop
problem is it doesnt have a transfer cable with it ..
if i  recover my gamertag on new hd can i  re-download all the games i have purchased in the past on xbox live? and not be charged again on new hd
and is there way to format the new one before i start downloading to it?

any help would be great cause i cant find stupid cable anyplace unless i order it online  :fail:

yea i did see that
i was  curious about the xbox live content i have payed for
if i decide not to use cable .. theres a lot of saved game garbage from 3 years ago that is useless
so i was wanting to start fresh  :biggrin:

It would probably be quicker and easier to just use the cable and transfer EVERYTHING over. Then go in and delete all the game saves you don't want IMO.

Delete before you transfer. Less content to transfer = quicker transfer.

But to answer your question, yes you should be able to download all the content you've paid for with being re-charged.

Now I did run into issues with I replaced my console with arcade games only working when my ID was logged in, I'm not sure if you'll run into that issue. If you do, you'll have to contact MS to fix it.

I just did this the other day without a transfer cable, only took me about 20 minutes.Only downfall is you lose all your game saves. But i had all my other stuff right away without having to pay for it again. (Had to redownload though but it showed me my download history so i knew what to recover/download)

First recover your gamertag on the HD

Then go here and just follow the steps it gives you and you will be good to go:
